Week 14 opening odds

Check out what the oddsmakers think about the Panthers this week

NFL: SEP 18 Saints at Panthers

The Carolina Panthers produced their first 100-yard rusher on the season by pitting Chuba Hubbard against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers fifth and sixth string inside linebackers. They still lost. It’s no wonder that the now 1-11 Panthers are opening as road underdogs to the New Orleans Saints in Week 14.

It is unlikely that owner David Tepper is going to fire another head coach this week, so odds are on a similar set up to last week with Ejiro Evero and Thomas Brown having autonomy over their sides of the ball and interim head coach Chris Tabor playing the lead morale officer on the sidelines. If any of you sickos are still betting money on anything other than the Panthers losing, take a look at the opening odds from Draftkings Sportsbook below.

Week 14

Panthers: +5.5

Saints: -5.5

Panthers: +185

Saints: -225

Remember that home-field advantage is traditionally accounted for by spotting the home team—the Saints, in this case—three points on the spread. That means the Saints would be favored on a neutral field by a little over a field goal. Given the Panthers unchallenged status as the worst team in the NFL, this is Draftkings expressing remarkably little confidence in the Saints.
