The Carolina Panthers have joint practices on the books with both the Indianapolis Colts and the Baltimore Ravens during their 2021 training camps. The team has announced today the timing of those practices with the Ravens. The dates were already known as they precede the team’s preseason game with each squad.
The practices are scheduled for August 18th and 19th at Wofford College in Spartanburg, South Carolina. Both practices will begin at 8:30 AM and will be open to the general public.
Joint practices are often a great way to test your team in a more controlled environment than a preseason game. The stakes are higher than practicing against your own teammates and the actual experience is simply longer than a single scrimmage. This has the benefit of giving your full roster more reps and a fuller evaluation while also carrying the drawback of a heightened emotional environment—fights are not uncommon between teams at joint practices.
The team has not yet announced timing for the joint practices with the Colts that are currently scheduled, even though those practices would likely be occurring before those with the Ravens.
