The Panthers (3-3) have lost their last three games after getting off to a hot start over the first three weeks of the 2021 season, and this Sunday they will try to end their three-game losing streak when they take on the the Giants (1-5) at MetLife Stadium. The Giants have lost their last two games after picking up their first win of the season three weeks ago against the Saints.
A general custom of sports betting is giving the home team a 3-point advantage just for being in front of their home crowd, but according to DraftKings Sportsbook, the Panthers are 3-point favorites against the Giants this week despite being the road team.
The Panthers should win this game. The Giants are 1-5 and have lost their last two games by a combined 51 points (27 to the Rams, 24 to the Cowboys), and while the Panthers are on a three-game losing streak of their own, they have been more competitive in their losses (they have lost their last three games by a combined 17 points and essentially beat themselves against the Eagles and Vikings).

My prediction
I think the Panthers will find a way to get back on track this week against the Giants. Yes, Carolina has lost three games in a row. Yes, the Panthers are going on the road. Yes, the Panthers tend to play down to their opponents when they look better on paper. All of those things are true, but I choose to believe that the Panthers will be able to turn things around and get back to their winning ways this week a struggling Giants team. I just have a feeling they’ll find a way to do it. I’d take the Panthers to cover the spread, but I’d also take the under because I think this will be a lower-scoring game with both teams combining for just 40 points.
Score prediction: Panthers 23 Giants 17
