The Panthers coaching staff was chosen to coach the ‘American’ team at the Reese’s Senior Bowl in Mobile, Ala. on Saturday, Jan. 30. It’s a great opportunity for Matt Rhule to get a closer look at some of the potentially underrated draft prospects.
As expected, Rhule is looking forward to the opportunity:
“We’re thrilled to coach at the Senior Bowl,” Rhule said. “Every year, Jim Nagy and his staff put together the best showcase of college talent in the nation, and we’re really excited to lead and get to know a team of this year’s top draft prospects.”
Below you will find the list of offensive skill players for the ‘American’ team that Rhule will work with. (Note: The roster is subject to change and will be updated as players are added or removed.)

Notes
I’m interested in seeing the tight ends and wide receivers (especially Shi Smith, of course). I think Rhule can find some Day 3 gems from this group so I’m looking forward to watching these guy show what they can do. It will be interesting to see how he rotates the quarterbacks, and I’m curious if Rhule is considering any of them as a late round prospect to replace PJ Walker and/or Will Grier as the backup.
I haven’t found any source that splits the offensive linemen and the defensive players into the ‘American’ and ‘National’ teams, so I don’t know which players from those groups that Rhule will have a chance to work with yet, but when I do I’ll be sure to pass that information along to y’all.
Alabama quarterback Mac Jones has also accepted an invite to the Senior Bowl, but as of this writing he has not been placed on a team.
