Panthers Week 2 fantasy performance review
Quarterback Teddy Bridgewater would have had a decent game if not for three turnovers. As it was he only scored 10.6 points. Even worse he lost his best weapon for the next three weeks due to an ankle sprain by Christian McCaffrey. McCaffrey still managed 22.8 points before leaving the game. His replacement Mike Davis came in proceeded to catch eight passes for 10 points. He has streaming potential while McCaffrey is out.
DJ Moore had a respectable 16 points on 13 targets. Moore is easily the most consistent performer on the offense in spite of his sad Week 1 performance. Robby Anderson didn’t perform quite as well with 13.8 points on 10 targets. I expect these two to continue to get the lion’s share of targets.
Kicker Joey Slye’s fantasy performance fell victim to the turnovers as well, limiting his opportunities to score. He settled for a field goal and two extra points for five points.
Fantasy Week 3 preview - Panthers at Chargers
The Chargers bring a tough secondary led by cornerbacks Chris Harris and Casey Hayward. I still like DJ Moore this week but not so much on every Panthers receiver. Look for Moore to get plenty of short slants and middle of the field passes to move the chains. Anderson is a boom or bust this week. He may not get many grabs but he could finally bring in a long touch down.
Teddy Bridgewater should have a decent day if he can avoid the turnovers, no sure thing of course. A better streaming option is running back Mike Davis who should get plenty of touches in both the rushing and receiving game. Davis could be the fantasy surprise of the day.
Thursday Night Football - Dolphins at Jaguars
I like both quarterbacks in this game to put up at least 18 points. Minchew has been on fire scoring over 20 points a game in the first games. The Dolphins will not provide much challenge to extending that streak to three games.
Both teams have virtual unknowns at running back in the Dolphins Myles Gaskins and the Jaguars James Robinson. The odds are one of these two guys should put up 80 yards and a score but which one? Robinson would be my best guess but it would be hard to pull the trigger on either of them.
The best plays will be the receivers in Davante Parker and DJ Chark for starters. Chark is questionable due to a chest injury, so have a Plan B if he can’t go. Some people think Preston Williams is bound to break out at some point. I’m I need to see more targets before I do something rash like that.
If you need help picking who to start or who to pick up on the waiver wire I always recommend this service.
