The Carolina Panthers made several roster moves today, including putting punter Michael Palardy on the reserve/non-football injury list after he tore his ACL this offseason. Normally with a devastating blow to a punter like this, I’d have someone check on BW. Luckily, the Panthers already signed some punting help from BW’s Gamecocks: undrafted rookie Joseph Charlton.
In other roster news, Greg Little will (of course) start the season on the active/physically unable to perform list, because we can’t have nice things when it comes to the offensive line. Luckily, it seems as though Little will not be expected to miss much time; he just did not pass his physical yet. The team also waived offensive lineman Juwann Bushell-Beatty, formerly of the XFL. More bad news on the offensive line: undrafted rookie Brandon Bowen will start camp on the active/reserve list with a “non-football illness.” I don’t know of any “football illnesses,” but let’s hope it’s nothing serious.
Speaking of serious illnesses, the Panthers had their first player opt out of the 2020 season due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Undrafted rookie linebacker Jordan Mack has decided to forego this season.
