The Carolina Panthers have signed (re-signed?) linebacker Adarius Taylor.
Panthers announce they have signed LB Adarius Taylor and waived UDFA DL Austrian Robinson. Taylor previously signed with Carolina as an UDFA in 2014 when he went by Adarius Glanton. He changed his name in 2018 to honor his late father.

As Alaina Getzenberg notes in the Tweet, Taylor previously went by Adarius Glanton. If that name sounds familiar, it’s because he has played for the Panthers before. Taylor was signed on as an undrafted free agent back in 2014. He started that season on the practice squad, but eventually worked his way onto the active roster by season’s end and appeared in ten games, starting two.
He started the 2015 season on the practice squad again, but he was poached by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. He became a regular rotation linebacker with the Bucs for four years before spending the 2019 season in Cleveland.
Taylor joins a Panthers linebacker corps that’s pretty bereft of talent. Shaq Thompson and Tahir Whitehead, and maybe Jermaine Carter seem like the only sure bets to make the final roster, so Taylor has a very real chance to make the team.
The Panthers released Austrian Robinson in a corresponding move, even though they only have 89 players on the roster.
