The biggest name held out from practice today was 2019 second round pick Greg Little. The rookie offensive tackle has been in the concussion protocol since the New England Patriots game during the third week of the preseason. He headlines what is otherwise an extremely limited injury report.
The only other name on the report is edge rusher/linebacker Bruce Irvin who is dealing with a hamstring issue. This a good looking Week 1 injury report for the Carolina Panthers. By this time last year they were already reduced to what amounted to a second string offensive line with more blows to come.
Obviously, the best news out of this is that Cam Newton was nowhere to be seen on the injury report. That isn’t a surprise but it is still heartening to see after the course of his last ten months.
There is no telling what will happen or when on the injury front as the team prepares to dive into the 2019 season, but mostly healthy is as good a place as any to start.
Check back later and we’ll bring you the injury report for the Los Angeles Rams as well.
