The good news is that Shaq Thompson was back at practice today, so at least we have something positive to report today.
I did not see Bruce Irvin, Rashaan Gaulden or KK Short at practice today. However, Shaq Thompson is back.

Carolina Panthers franchise quarterback Cam Newton is not practice again today, which makes this the second straight day that he has missed practice after re-aggravating his sprained foot in the team’s loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers last Thursday night.
No Cam Newton for practice this morning, which is pretty expected. Once a few weeks ago he did come in after the gates were closed, but I don’t imagine that will be the case today.

There’s still no need to go into full-on panic mode just yet, but Cam missing practice two days in a row is certainly cause for some mild concern. The team hasn’t officially ruled him out for Sunday’s road game against the Arizona Cardinals yet, and that decision likely won’t be made until Friday afternoon, so there’s still a (albeit slim) chance that we’ll see Newton play on Sunday. If he doesn’t, you can expect to see backup quarterback Kyle Allen start for Carolina.
For now, Newton is the only starter mentioned for missing practice, but we’ll provide any updates when they’re available if any other key players are out of action today. Stay tuned.
