Greg Little back in action.
Greg Olsen, Rashaan Gaulden and Bruce Irvin were held out of practice for the second straight day, but some positive news is that Greg Little practiced, but is still in the concussion protocol for now.
Olsen is still hopeful that despite the short week he’ll be ready to go on Thursday night and says that he just ‘got a little jacked up’ against the Rams.
Greg Olsen said his back got a little jacked up in the opener. Short week is not ideal but he plans to play.— Max Henson (@PanthersMax) September 10, 2019
As we stated yesterday, it is likely that Olsen and Gaulden’s lack of participation in practice had more to do with the quick turn around for Thursday night’s game than is does the severity of their injuries.
There’s still no reason to worry yet about their availability. Gaulden isn’t exactly a pivotal member of the secondary and Olsen could probably play without practicing once this week.
The real news here is that Little is continuing to progress within the concussion protocol and could be expected back as early as this week. He was a full participant in practice but that is not the same thing as being completely cleared to play. This is a positive first step and we will be sure to share with you once he has been released from the protocol.
