The Carolina Panthers have possibly avoided a complete disaster as it appears that franchise quarterback Cam Newton only suffered a sprained left foot after leaving the game in the first half of last night’s preseason game with the New England Patriots.
Source says that, after x-rays, Panthers QB Cam Newton was diagnosed with a sprain in his left foot. Team will know more tomorrow.

Newton was sacked by Adam Butler and appeared to be grimacing in pain following the play. He was taken out of the game and evaluated on the sideline but then went to the locker room for further evaluation before the first half was over. He never returned to the sideline and was seen walking around in a walking boot after the game was over. However, team officials believe the injury is ‘not too serious’ and that everything should be okay for the team’s franchise quarterback.

We’ll obviously have to wait on more information before we know exactly what the diagnosis is, but the initial outlook is that this isn’t quite the catastrophe we thought it could be last night, and that everything should be okay for Newton (and the Panthers).
Advice here to everyone is to stay even-keel. Obviously Newton has to have more testing and they’ll have to exercise some caution. But, sense I’m getting is early outlook is not something really bad.
