The Carolina Panthers have traded the No. 187 pick in the 2019 NFL Draft to the Denver Broncos in exchange for the Nos. 212 and 237 picks. Pick No. 212 is in the sixth round, while Pick No. 237 is in the seventh (and final) round of the draft.

Broncos have acquired Rd 6-187 from Carolina in exchange for Rd 6-212 & Rd 7-237.

This trade gives the Panthers an extra pick they didn’t have to start the day. Prior to this trade, the No. 187 pick would have been Carolina’s last pick of the draft. Now they have an extra lottery ticket in case they see another player they’d like to make a ‘priority UDFA’ instead of risking the chance that said undrafted player chooses another team.
We don’t know who Hurney has in mind for either of these picks, but trading down to acquire more players is probably a decent strategy. Stay tuned as we’ll provide all the details on the final two picks whenever they are announced.
