The Carolina Panthers have selected running back Jordan Scarlett with the No. 154 pick in the 2019 NFL Draft.

Scarlett rushed for 1846 yards and 12 touchdowns on 344 career carries for the Florida Gators. He ran for 776 yards and five touchdowns on 131 carries in 13 games in his final season. He was suspended for his entire junior season along with several other players for being part of a credit card scandal.
Scarlett is a weight room warrior with very good athletic measurables. He can bench press 465 pounds.
From his NFL.com overview:
Physical specimen with size, strength and foot quickness that lands in the NFL sweet spot for running backs. Scarlett can be frustrating to watch as he can be hesitant in the early stages of the run, but very fluid and elusive once he makes it to the second level. He can create for himself with wiggle and power, but his vision is subpar and he offers no third down value due to his dreadful hands. He has early Day 3 traits with the potential to find NFL carries, but potential character concerns could hurt his chances.
Scarlett has some intriguing physical tools, but there are concerns about his off field transgressions. The Panthers needed some depth at running back, and now they’ve checked the box.
