Panthers.com is reporting that safety Damian Parms has signed a one year contract with the Carolina Panthers. From their report:
Parms, an exclusive rights free agent, spent last season on injured reserve with a shoulder injury suffered in the preseason. The Florida Atlantic product hasn’t appeared in a regular season game in his career, but he has an opportunity with Carolina working to shore up the safety spot.
This will be the third offseason that Parms will spend on the roster. He spent the first regular season on the practice squad and the second on injured reserve. The team keeps bringing him back, so I guess they see some potential worth tapping into. Or this could be another Dean Marlowe situation. Who knows.
This move doesn’t shouldn’t settle the Panthers safety corps. That unit is nothing but question marks after Eric Reid, and Parms is one of them. They should still be searching for upgrades in the draft and free agency.
