Welp, that just happened.
The Carolina Panthers jumped out to a dominating 14-0 start over Washington in the first quarter and we all thought this would be one of those games that was over by the end of the first half and we’d be celebrating a big win at home.
And then the Panthers completely shit the bed.
Washington scored 29 unanswered points to take a 29-14 lead and the Panthers looked more like the 2-9 team who couldn’t get out of their own way. Washington’s lackluster defensive line sacked Kyle Allen six times. Their ineffective running game rushed for 248 yards and three touchdowns. They simply outplayed the Panthers after Carolina’s second touchdown and didn’t look back.
The Panthers made it interesting in the fourth quarter by scoring a touchdown on a Kyle Allen scramble to pull within eight points, and they even recovered an onside kick. They followed that by driving all the way down to the Washington 1-yard line with first-and-goal, and then failed to score in spectacular fashion to lose 29-21 to a team that was 2-9 when the game started.
I honestly don’t know where the Panthers go from here, but it’s time to clean house. Ron Rivera simply has to be fired. There’s no way around it. The team isn’t going to win anything with him at the helm, and the Panthers need to tear down the cracking foundation and build a completely new house before they’re ready to be competitive again.
There are four games left this year, but the season is pretty much over. The Panthers are playing for pride at this point, and honestly it’s time for them to take a look at some younger players to prepare themselves for the 2020 draft in a few months.
We face a familiar foe next week when we visit the Atlanta Falcons, not that it matters. Not that anything really matters at this point...
I’m sure you’ve got some complaining to do, Panthers fans, so let’s hear it.

They can’t, so Michael Palardy is back out to punt.

The kick is good. Carolina 14 Washington 6

Pregame
The Carolina Panthers return home after a brutal 34-31 loss to the New Orleans Saints to face a Washington team that is, quite frankly, not very good. The Panthers are 5-6 on the season, but Washington is currently 2-9. Of course, that didn’t matter the last time the Panthers faced a 2-win team when the Atlanta Falcons whipped them in their own house, but hopefully the results will be different this time as the Panthers desperately need a win to keep their 1-2 percent chance of making the playoffs alive.
Below you will find all the information you need to catch the action as it happens live.
