Sign DL Stacy McGee and Woodrow Hamilton (was in Panthers camp).
Poe and van Roten suffered a quad and a foot injury, respectively, during a Sunday’s loss to the New Orleans Saints. The Panthers have signed two defensive linemen to take their roster spots. Stacy McGee is a six year veteran who has spent time with the Raiders and Washington. Hamilton was in training camp with the Panthers this offseason after having spent the last three seasons with the Giants, the Saints, and the Patriots.
Daryl Williams is currently expected to replace van Roten at left guard. Williams, in addition to being highly familiar with the Panthers scheme at this point and being a more than capable back up interior offensive linemen, also provides a useful barometer for how the Panthers offense has fared from a physical health perspective in 2019. After this game, Williams will only need to start one game at center to have been a starter at every offensive line position this season.
