The Panthers defensive line anticipates a very good matchup against the Jaguars this Sunday

Carolina’s elite unit hopes to continue its dominance after a big performance against the Houston Texans.

One of the biggest keys to victory for the Carolina Panthers this week is the continued excellence from its defensive line. The Jacksonville Jaguars have seen some success with quarterback Gardner Minshew, but he is a rookie quarterback who is highly capable of folding under pressure.

As expected, the Panthers have seen some great things from its defensive line this year. The defense has a total of eighteen sacks over the span of four games. That’s a tie with the New England Patriots for the most sacks in the league. Mario Addison leads the defense with an impressive 5.5 sacks on the year so far. The defense as a whole is placed at fourth in the league for the least yards allowed. A lot of that has to do with the outstanding play of the defensive side of the trenches.

The Jaguars’ offensive line isn’t exactly the greatest group in the league, but it definitely has some solid pieces. The Panthers are very familiar with Jaguars guard Andrew Norwell. Norwell used to be one of the best players on the Panthers offensive line before he chose to pursue more money in free agency with the Jaguars. He got the money he wanted, and it seems as though he’s been worth it, because the rest of the Jaguars’ young offensive line has seen its struggles. The Jaguars have given up ten sacks. Last week, they gave up five sacks to an elite Denver Broncos defensive line. The Jaguars depend on running the football with its offensive line and running back Leonard Fournette. They fed Fournette the ball 29 times last week. If the Panthers defensive line consistently disrupts the Jags run game and rattles Gardner Minshew on Sunday, then this team can be 3-2. What do you think, Panthers fans?
