The Carolina Panthers defensive end group has has been getting a little long in the tooth for a few years now. Mario Addison is the only player who is not only capable of starting, but who is expected to be able to start for years to come. Enter last year’s 3rd round draft pick, Hall. The coaching staff has a lot of hope that he can step up and prove himself this year.
Hall rose to fame in college in the shadow of last year’s number 1 overall draft pick and team mate, Myles Garret, but he came into the league ready to make his own name. Unfortunately, Hall was only able to play in one game last season before being sidelined with a knee injury that ultimately led to his being placed in injured reserve.
Hall is reportedly back with the team now and more ready than ever to get on the field. Ascending to a starting position may be a lot to ask for a second year player who has already missed a lot of time, but another year learning behind Addison and team legend Julius Peppers is a great way to start a career. We’ll see how well he can take advantage of that opportunity in just 94 days.
