We are 83 days away from the beginning of the Carolina Panthers 2018 season. Since there are no current Panthers wearing the No. 83, let’s take a moment to reflect on the career of former Panthers wide receiver Mark Carrier.
The Panthers selected Carrier from the Cleveland Browns in the 16th round of the 1995 Expansion Draft, and he played the final four years of his career in Carolina. Carrier scored the first touchdown for the Panthers in Clemson’s Memorial Stadium in their expansion year, and also scored the first touchdown in Ericsson Stadium (now known as Bank of America Stadium).
According to Wikipedia, Carrier ranks sixth all-time on the Carolina Panthers’ all-time receiving list with 176 receptions and fifth in receiving yards with 2,547. He finished his career with 569 catches for 8763 yards and 48 touchdowns.
Carrier currently serves in the Panthers front office as the Director of Player Engagement.
