Pro Football Focus has begun releasing their ratings from the 2017 season and, newsflash, they still think Luke Kuechly is a really swell linebacker. They graded him as the number three overall linebacker in the NFL.

This continues a long tradition of PFF singing Kuechly’s praises. He was their top inside linebacker in 2014 and their best coverage defender in 2015. It should come as a surprise to nobody that if Kuechly is healthy enough to be on the field then he is going to be one of the best players out there.

Kuechly plays a brutal position and has had his share of close calls and bad hits. Kuechly’s experience with concussions has led to his being the first NFL player involved with an experimental preventative program. There is no word yet on the progress or results of that program, but football fans everywhere are rooting for its success.

He has the talent to have a long and storied career. Pro Football Focus isn’t just blowing hot air when they sing his praises. Kuechly is on his way to the Hall of Fame if he can stay healthy enough to play football his way.
