The Carolina Panthers have selected Donte Jackson with the No. 55 overall pick in the 2018 NFL Draft. Jackson has elite athleticism but missed being one of the top corners in the draft because of questions about his coverage skills.
The Panthers weren’t going to get the complete package at this point in the draft and so decided to upgrade their secondary with a corner who has all of the physical tools to succeed. He is joining a mostly veteran secondary and adds some much needed speed to a unit that now has to defend Calvin Ridley and Julio Jones twice a year.
