The Carolina Panthers have selected wide receiver D.J. Moore with the No. 24 overall pick in the 2018 NFL Draft. This selection gives Cam Newton a dynamic playmaker at wide receiver.
My take
This is a tremendous pick for the Panthers. They needed to give Newton some weapons at wide receiver, and Moore certainly fits the bill. At 6’0”, 210 lbs and 4.42-forty speed, Moore will be a Steve Smith-esque weapon for Norv Turner’s offense.
NFL Network analyst Steve Smith says that Moore ‘can run every route on the route tree’ and ‘they have never been able to replace me ... until today.’
