Panthers free agency 2018: Amini Silatolu re-signed to a one-year deal, per report

New, comments

The Panthers are bringing back Amini Silatolu for one more year according to a report from the team’s official site.

According to a tweet from Jourdan Rodrigue, the Carolina Panthers are adding depth to their offensive line by bringing Amini Silatolu back on a one-year contract.

The Panthers’ official Twitter account has confirmed the news:

The financial terms of the deal have not yet been disclosed.

My take

The Panthers need depth on the offensive line, but surely they can find a better option somewhere ... right? Silatolu was a near-disaster for the Panthers last season, and to bring him back now — even if he’s just a depth signing — isn’t a very good idea. The offensive line is only as strong as its weakest link, and if that weakest link is Amini Silatolu ... hoo boy we’re in for a real treat (and by treat I mean the exact opposite of what treat usually means).
