NFL Free Agency 2018: Carolina Panthers sign guard Jeremiah Sirles to a one-year contract

New, comments

The Panthers have added some depth to their offensive line and possibly found a replacement for Andrew Norwell at left guard.

According to Max Henson from Panthers.com, the Carolina Panthers have signed free agent guard Jeremiah Sirles to a one-year contract.

Sirles spent the last three seasons with the Minnesota Vikings and is 26 years old.

Vikings head coach Mike Zimmer had the following to say about Sirles:

“Jeremiah, he’s a battler,” Vikings head coach Mike Zimmer told the Pioneer Press during the season. “He goes in there and fights and he figures out a way to get it done.”

Sounds a lot like Andrew Norwell, doesn’t it? Hopefully Sirles will be a quality replacement for Norwell, but at the very least he should be adequate depth for the offensive line.

The terms for Sirles’ contract have not been revealed, so stay tuned to CSR as we’ll provide that information for you when it becomes available.
