Carolina Panthers free agency 2018: Julius Peppers re-signs for one more year

According to Joe Person of the Charlotte Observer, Julius Peppers is expected to sign a one-year contract when free agency officially begins.

According to a tweet from Joe Person of the Charlotte Observer, Carolina Panthers defensive end Julius Peppers has signed up for one more season in Charlotte.

And in case you need even more confirmation, here’s the Panthers’ official Twitter account with a video of Peppers signing the dang thing.

According to Person, Peppers will sign a one-year contract for $5 million with $2.5 million of it guaranteed.

The future Hall-of-Famer has signed a one-year deal worth $5 million, including $2.5 million guaranteed, according to a league source with knowledge of the situation.

What this means for the Panthers

They get the best defensive end in franchise history back for one last ride. They don’t have as much of a depth issue at defensive end with Peppers back in the fold, but it would probably still be a good idea to draft someone to round out the depth chart.
