We’ve already discussed the possibility of signing Breeland to a contract when rumors surfaced on Twitter about the Panthers being interested, so it appears those rumors had some truth to them.
What this means for the Panthers
The Panthers had a void at starting cornerback after trading Daryl Worley to the Eagles for wide receiver Torrey Smith. Signing Breeland gives the Panthers another starter to pair on the outside with James Bradberry and gives them flexibility when looking for cornerback depth in the 2018 NFL Draft should they choose to go that route.
The deal won’t become official until the league year starts at 4 p.m. ET tomorrow, and the details of the contract are currently unknown. Stay tuned to CSR for any updates on this signing, as we’ll provide the information whenever it becomes available.
