The Panthers and Saints have released their inactives lists for tonight’s divisional matchup on Monday Night Football.
The bad news for the Panthers is that kicker Graham Gano will miss his second straight game with a knee injury. Chandler Catanzaro will take his place again tonight.
The good news for the Panthers is that defensive tackle Kawann Short is active tonight after missing practice this week with a calf injury. Vernon Butler is also active tonight after being a healthy scratch for the last two weeks.
Defensive end Efe Obada is inactive in favor of Butler, so the Panthers’ coaches must feel that generating interior pressure on Drew Brees is more important than pressure off the edge. Hopefully they’re right and their plan works out.
Offensive tackle Terron Armstead will not play tonight for the Saints. Hopefully the Panthers can find a way to take advantage.
