The Carolina Panthers have brought in multiple kickers for a work out this week, per reports. Graham Gano has made only two of his four attempted field goals in the last two weeks and has missed three extra points across the 2018 season.
With Graham Gano struggling a bit, #Panthers worked out Ks Chandler Catanzaro, Sam Ficken, Matt McCrane, Caleb Sturgis. Also worked out CB Dexter McDougle.

None of these guys are likely to be better than Gano. His 63 yard game winning field goal against the New York Giants is something that few other kickers could replicate. His two misses in the last two weeks are also his only two misses on the season. It seems likely there was something in the last two weeks that affected his preparation or mentality for the games. It’s not like he suddenly got old.
Don’t expect the Panthers to make a signing from that, or any other, group of kickers. Bringing them in was likely just a means of giving Gano a kick in the competitve butt to get him back on his game. While any explicit changes are unlikely, it is encouraging to see the Panthers take action that is intended to improve the team.
