Well here’s a Dave Gettleman trade you can say for sure did not work out in the Panthers favor. The price did seem a little high at the time but we were sold on the need for a reliable punter.

3. The Carolina Panthers have cut punter Andy Lee and are fielding trade calls for veteran kicker Graham Gano. The Panthers acquired Lee in a trade with Cleveland in 2016 in which they sent the Browns a 2018 fourth-round pick.
The real kicker here (pun intended) is that we could have had Palardy back when we were acquiring Lee as Palardy was bouncing around various rosters looking for a home. I guess someone finally did their due diligence. So if you want to you can look at the trade as eventually netting us a starting punter. One that is much younger (25 vs 37) and much cheaper ($540k to $2.8M). So there is that. Never less when next year’s draft rolls around we will lament the loss of the 4th rounder.
For now though...congrats to Mike Palardy!
