Panthers Owner Jerry Richardson meeting with Marty Hurney today, per league sources

There could soon be an old friend in the Panthers’ front office.

According to a tweet from NFL Network reporter Tom Pelissero, Jerry Richardson is meeting with Marty Hurney to discuss being the interim GM of the Carolina Panthers following Dave Gettleman’s sudden departure yesterday.

Before you freak out, keep in mind the report says interim GM, as in temporary. It’s believed that Hurney would only be in charge of the front office for the 2017 season while Richardson takes his time to find a suitable replacement for Gettleman.

Of course, that doesn’t eliminate the possibility that Richardson could just remove the interim label from Hurney’s title later down the road, but for now let’s just focus on the word interim and continue to believe that won’t happen.

What are your thoughts, Panthers fans? Are you ready to see Marty Hurney in charge again? Sound off with your thoughts in the comments.
