Panthers Rescind Offer to DT Robert Barber

After a more thorough check into his personal life, the Panthers have rescinded their offer to the Washington State DT prospect.

Per Jordan Rodrigue on Twitter, the Panthers have rescinded a contract offer to UDFA Robert Barber, a defensive tackle out of Washington State, due to learning of felony assault charges pending against him.

Barber naturally was not expected to make an already crowded roster at the DT position, but this is just another reminder that you can screw your life up in an instant with poor choices off the field. It’s also a reminder that the Carolina Panthers do not mess around with guys who have off-field issues, especially those of violent nature. It’s one of the things I respect most about this team. They keep it clean.
