What will the Carolina Panthers look like in 5 years?

Here’s five predictions for the Panthers five years from now

NFL: Carolina Panthers-Christian McCaffrey Press Conference Jim Dedmon-USA TODAY Sports

Our mothership,, has a refreshed, prettied up look as of today. As part of that, they have put together a really extensive, awesome series on the future of football. As part of that look into the future, we gaze into our crystal ball to see what the Carolina Panthers might look like in five years.

Vote in the poll below and let us know which prediction you think has the best least chance of coming true.

1. The Richardson family will still own the Carolina Panthers

It was reported some time ago that after removing his sons Mark and Jon from a role in the franchise that he changed his will and the franchise would be sold upon his death. I’m predicting that even if the Big Cat should kick the bucket between now and then (I’m not wishing for it at all) the team will actually remain at least 50% owned by the Richardson family. It could be because Big Cat has since changed his mind about selling the team or that he is actually still alive. Whichever you prefer to think of it is fine by me.

2. Dave Gettleman will still be GM and Ron Rivera will still be the head coach

Though they are coming off a down year in 2017 the Panthers will string together several more division crowns solidifying their positions with the organizations.

3. QB Cam Newton is still the Panthers starting QB

Newton will be 28 by the time the 2017 starts so predicting him to still be under center isn’t a stretch. The steps the Panthers are taking now will reduce the hits he takes and ensure his longevity in the league. The Panthers will extend his contract before it expires shortly after #5 below comes true.

4. RB Christian McCaffrey will be on the verge (within 500 yards) of breaking Jonathan Stewart’s franchise career rushing yardage mark after only five seasons.

Stewart is currently 219 yards shy of surpassing DeAngelo Williams mark of 6,846 yards which I predict he will do. McCaffrey though will lay all of that to waste as he proves plenty durable to receive 20 touches a game on his way to multiple 1,000+ yard rushing seasons.

5. The Panthers will win a Super Bowl

The Panthers will not only make another super Bowl they will win it this time. Everything that has been learned and planned for will come true and the Lombardi Trophy.
