NFL: Carolina Panthers at Chicago Bears David Banks-USA TODAY Sports

We did have a few performances worthy of consideration. It’s not as many as most weeks though, with only one entry two entries from the offense. Here’s this week’s candidates.

RT Daryl Williams

It’s two weeks in a row that PFF has given the young right tackle the team’s top grade for the game. Dilly dilly!

RB Jonathan Stewart

Stewart put up an eye popping 48 yards on 14 carries for a 3.4 ypc average. If you’re thinking ‘What’s so special about that?’ then just remember it is a yuge improvement from last week’s 8 for -4 yards (-.5 ypc) performance. Yes I’m trolling you J-Stew, but I'll acknowledge a lot of it isn’t your fault.

P Michael Palardy

Palardy is currently 8th in the NFL with a net punt avg of 42.3 yards. That puts him ahead of Andy Lee (37.2) and Brad Nortman (39.9), assuming you even care. Keeping Palardy appears to be at least one win for the Panthers brass in the pre-season.

LB Shaq Thompson

Thompson led the team with 6 combined tackles and one tackle for loss. Plus PFF liked his game as well.

DE Mario Addison

Addison had four combined tackles, a sack. a QB hurry and a TFL.

DT Kawann Short

Short did the same as Addison minus one tackle but he did add a blocked kick.

So there go. It’s not much to go on but go ahead and pick one.
