The Panthers will be without several key players when they face the Bears today in the Windy City. Linebacker Luke Kuechly is out today due to him still being in the concussion protocol, safety Kurt Coleman will miss today’s game while still recovering from a knee injury, and running back Fozzy Whittaker will also miss today’s game after suffering an ankle injury last Thursday against the Eagles.
The good news for Carolina is that Kelvin Benjamin is active. It’s not known how active he will be, but at the very least he’ll be available for the Panthers to matriculate the ball down the field.
David Mayo will step in for Kuechly in his absence, and he should be okay there because one of his best traits is stopping the run. We are playing the Foxball Bears, so a run stopper in the middle would be a good weapon to have.
The Bears will be without one of their key players as well. Sherrick McManis is their special teams captain and could end up being a big loss for the Bears if this game turns into the punt-fest we all expect it to be.
Here are the inactives for today’s Panthers-Bears game:
Panthers: LB Luke Kuechly, RB Fozzy Whittaker, S Kurt Coleman, S Demetrious Cox, OT John Theus, QB Garrett Gilbert, OL Greg Van Roten,
Bears: WR Markus Wheaton, RB Benny Cunningham, OL Hroniss Grasu, DL John Jenkins, DB Sherrick McManis, QB Mark Sanchez, LB John Timu
Kickoff isn’t too far away, Panthers fans! Are you ready?
