It’s what I do so bear with me, you might learn something...or not. I love to look at statistics, but it can be maddening sometimes. Sometimes the data just doesn’t tell you anything. But try we do, like reading tea leaves. For instance, is the lack of a running game like what we saw last week the reason for the two losses?
As it turns out the Panthers ran the ball well against the Saints. If anything it shows the Panthers didn’t throw the ball down the field in their two losses. That makes sense. Of course it could have been influenced by the opposing pass rush. Let’s take a look.
Cam Newton got sacked in the win over the Bills just as much as he did in the two losses combined. I could argue though the Eagles still got a lot of pressure on Newton. I think I might be on to something. Check this one out.
That one is pretty damning. As long as the QB throws less than 3 INTs the Panthers win. Easy peasy! Of course the OL needs to keep the pocket clean for that to happen.
Still skeptical? Okay maybe this last one might convince. This one completely explains the Panthers 4-2 record.
Cheers!
