The Carolina Panthers and Denver Broncos square off in Super Bowl 50 at Levi's Stadium on Sunday, and the game-day weather forecast in Santa Clara could not be more perfect. Kickoff is set for 3:35 p.m. PT, and the current forecast for game-day is 70 degrees and sunny with winds out of the northwest at 8 miles per hour.
There had been some concerns about the possibility of rain due to El Niño. It has been a heavier than normal period for El Niño, and so a potential downpour on Sunday was in the forecast a month ago. Fortunately, the weather is holding up quite nicely, and it should be a fantastic environment for football.
The game will be the first outdoor Pacific time zone game since San Diego hosted Super Bowl 37 in 2003. That means it will not get dark until the second half. It will remain sunny much of the game, and then turn into clear evening skies by the time they are handing out the Lombardi Trophy. The temperature will drop down to the low 60s or high 50s by the end of the game.
