The league will hold its annual NFL Honors show on Saturday night, recognizing the NFL's best players, plays and performances from the 2015 season. The event is hosted by Conan O'Brien and televised live on CBS at 9 p.m. ET. The event will actually start taping at 8 p.m., which means we will see information tweeted out before the TV broadcast begins.
The biggest award of the day will be the Associated Press MVP award. Cam Newton is a front-runner for that award. Winning that the night before potentially winner Super Bowl 50 would certainly be a strong finish to the season. Newton was at the helm of the league's top-scoring offense, combining for more than 4,000 total yards (3,837 passing, 636 rushing) and 45 touchdowns (35 passing, 10 rushing). If he does not win, it will be a little ridiculous.
The night will also include the coach of the year award. The strong play of the Carolina Panthers should give Ron Rivera a strong chance of taking home that award.
