A six figure cap hit is definitely a victory for Gettleman and the team. Colin Cole isn't a world beater, but he's the kind of player that provides reliable depth and plays very well against the run. As of now, Dwan Edwards has yet to be resigned, so we will have to wait and see how that unfolds. The draft is very deep at the defensive tackle position, which means we could definitely see some young talent come in at the position.
Overall, signing Colin Cole to such a cap-friendly deal will be helpful for the Panthers in 2015.
