New, comments

The Seattle Seahawks sheet is long while the Carolina Panthers sheet looks pretty good coming off a bye.

Panthers Injury Report

Name Position Injury Wed. Thu. Fri. Game Status
Jared Allen DE Back DNP DNP DNP Out
Richie Brockel TE Hamstring LP LP LP Doubtful
Jerricho Cotchery WR Ankle FP FP FP Probable
AJ Klein LB Concussion LP LP DNP Out
Luke Kuechly LB Concussion FP FP FP Probable
Amini Silatolu G Ankle FP LP LP Questionable
Daryl Williams T Knee DNP DNP DNP Out

It seems like every time Ron Rivera is "optimistic" that somebody is going to play, they don't play. Both Rivera and Jared Allen for the last couple weeks seemed to not worry about Allen missing, yet here we are. Allen was signed to try and alleviate the absence of Charles Johnson, and now we're waiting for Allen to be healthy. Frustrating, but it doesn't seem to be bad enough that he'll miss multiple weeks. Kony Ealy and Wes Horton will be your starters, along with a healthy rotation of Mario Addison and Ryan Delaire, both of whom have shown well as rotational pass rushers. Kawann Short has also been known to kick outside.

Sub in one linebacker with a concussion, sub out another one. Kuechly finally cleared concussion protocol, but apparently AJ Klein suffered one after the Bucs game. It doesn't appear to be nearly as severe as Kuechly's was and they are being cautious. Gotta give Klein a big round of applause for his efforts without Kuechly in the lineup. With Kuechly likely on a snap count, we should see more of Shaq Thompson and Thomas Davis in nickel defense, which I really like for containing Russell Wilson.

It looks like Silatolu should be back this week, evidenced by David Foucault reverting back to the PS. Silatolu will be the primary backup at tackle while Daryl Williams is out. Brockel's still injured, but Jerricho Cotchery will return this weekend.

Seahawks Injury Report

Name Position Injury Wed. Thu. Fri. Status
Demarcus Dobbs DE Shoulder DNP LP N/A Questionable
Jordan Hill DT Quads DNP DNP N/A Doubtful
Tye Smith CB Hip DNP DNP N/A Doubtful
Bobby Wagner MLB Pectoral DNP DNP N/A Questionable
Frank Clark DE Hamstring DNP DNP N/A Doubtful
Marshawn Lynch RB Hamstring LP FP N/A Questionable
Kevin Pierre-Louis LB Hamstring LP FP N/A Probable
Marcus Burley DB Hand Out Out Out Out
Michael Bennett DE Not Injury Related N/A DNP N/A Probable
Nick Moody LB Ankle N/A DNP N/A Doubtful
Brock Coyle MLB Knee N/A LP N/A Questionable

Michael Bennett likely got a veteran day off, while CB Marcus Burley had hand surgery and his status is not surprising. Marshawn Lynch appears to be on track to play, though Rawls has been playing extremely well in his absence so I wouldn't be shocked by a rotation.

I'm not sure where people are getting that Bobby Wagner was listed as probable, but Thomas Davis did play through a pec injury as well without many problems. I'd expect to see him on the field, especially with three other linebackers also on the report. The Seahawks signed CB Crezdon Butler, likely in response to Tye Smith's injury. The Seahawks also could be shorthanded in the defensive line rotation, with Demarcus Dobbs listed as questionable and both Frank Clark and Jordan Hill listed as doubtful. That leaves 6 total lineman healthy for this weekends game if Dobbs can't play.
