The 2015 Pro Bowl was once again a forgettable mess of a football game played by extremely talented athletes who showed no desire to be there. Team Irvin won the game 32-28, but that's not really why fans watch. They're hoping for a big play or two and moreso to see their favorite players shine, which made it a good night for Panthers fans.
Greg Olsen was arguably the best receiver on either team. While the Panthers tight end didn't finish with the highest yardage total and only caught three passes, he made the most of his opportunities by finishing with 52 yards and two touchdowns. Given he was only targeted four times he did very well and represented Carolina with poise.
On the other side of the ball Luke Kuechly finished with the third-highest tackle total among defensive players, registering 7 and one pass defended. Let's be honest here: Nobody really plays defense in the Pro Bowl, but at least Luke gave some effort out there, which can't be said for other players named to the Pro Bowl rosters.
Neither Olsen, nor Kuechly were awarded MVP despite their strong performances. Those honors went to Matthew Stafford and J.J. Watt respectively.
Cam Newton did not make the Pro Bowl roster this year with Andy Dalton making the squad despite playing poorly in 2014. The Bengals QB didn't do much to justify his position, finishing 9/20 with 69 yards. Dalton was also the lowest-rated quarterback in the game with 54.0. Would Newton have faired much better in Arizona? Perhaps not, but he would have made the game more exciting than a passer who averaged 3.5 yards per attempt.
Will this game ever be good?
