2014 NFL Free Agency: Panthers sign WR Tiquan Underwood, per report

According to a report from PFT, the Panthers have added another free agent wide receiver.

As reported by Darin Gantt of Pro Football Talk, the Panthers have added another wide receiver to the mix by signing free agent Tiquan Underwood to a two year contract. Terms of the agreement are currently undisclosed, but I'm sure there's enough coin involved for Underwood to purchase plenty of hair care products to maintain his magnificent coiffure during his tenure in Carolina. I mean, a guy's gotta look good, right?

Kidding aside, Underwood is a pretty good fit for the Panthers. He has speed to get down the field in a hurry, and he produced decently for the Buccaneers last season in 12 games with 24 receptions for 440 yards and 4 touchdowns. As it stands now he is probably the second best receiver on the roster, slotted below Jerricho Cotchery who signed a contract with the team yesterday afternoon.

Everything hinges on the financial terms of the deal, but when it's all said and done this shouldn't be a bad deal for the Panthers, especially when the dearth of bodies at the wide receiver position is factored into the equation.

Stay tuned to CSR for updates on the terms of the contract as we will provide the information when it becomes available.
