Panthers are Now 3rd In Total Dead Money

With just under $14M is dead cap space the Panthers now find themselves with the 3rd highest total in the NFL. Dave Gettleman still has his work cut out for him.

The good news is they still have a little money to work with, approximately a little over $8M. My first thought was that this number recently went up due to Steve Smith being cut but he is actually not on the list for 2014. I guess that dead money shows up next year.

Instead the majority of the money is coming from our former LBs:

Panthers Dead Money

Jon Beason $8M

James Anderson $2.8M

Jordan Gross $1.75M

Geoff Hangartner $666k

Haruki Nakamura $365k

The rest is small change compared to these guys.
