2013 Carolina Panthers Training Camp: Day 7 Twitter Recap

Here's a recap of today's events from Spartanburg.

Jeremy Brevard-USA TODAY Sports

Day seven of practice is in the books, so let's take a look back at the day's news.

Panthers looking at replacement guards

According to sources, the Panthers are looking at offensive linemen to bring into camp, but they're not looking at a person that many have said the team should sign.

And yes, Gettleman is aware that he needs to find another lineman.

Whether he signs someone or not is yet to be seen, but at least he's on the field assessing what's currently on the roster before making a decision.

The Spartanburg heat claims its first victims

I'm honestly surprised it took this long.

Don't be alarmed. The team is just being cautious.

Kenjon Barner is a popular tackling target

Apparently the veterans like tackling Barner, because this is the second dust-up we've seen involving him.

Hopefully it's nothing more than just a little rookie hazing, and hopefully they don't take it too far and injure Barner before he has a shot to play.

AJ Klein getting a share of first team reps

It's highly unlikely he's going to start in 2013 unless something really bad happens, but it's nice to see he's earned some first team reps.

Brandon Williams also getting first team reps

I'm telling you, be on the lookout for this kid. He looked good the weekend I was in Spartanburg, and I won't be surprised if he makes the roster.

If he can block at a decent rate, I see no reason to keep him off the roster. Certainly he offers just as much --if not more--than Hartsock or Brockel, right? At least he would be cheaper.

Miscellaneous Notes

DJ Campbell knows the value of a cup of coffee.

Hey, if that was from Starbucks, that's like five dollars! Good lookin' out from Campbell there.

File this one in the "things you really don't need to know but are kinda glad you found out" category:

I can see the media firestorm now: Cam Newton shows lack of team spirit; prefers red, white and blue over Panthers colors at practice. Haters gonna hate, y'all.

Well, that's it for this recap. Be sure to look for the next one after tomorrow's practice.

And as always, stay tuned to CSR for any breaking news out of training camp.
