Our own James Dator speculated yesterday that it was possible Derek Anderson would return for another year as Cam Newton's backup quarterback, and it is now being reported that Anderson will in fact return to Carolina for one more season.
Per Steve Reed's Twitter Account:
Panthers QB Derek Anderson tells The Associated Press he has re-signed with Carolina on a one-year deal.

Looks like things just got serious. The terms of the deal are unknown at this time except for the fact that it's a one year deal. (I'm noticing a trend here, are you?) This is a solid signing by the Panthers as the free agent quarterback market is a barren wasteland devoid of talent, and while Anderson certainly won't make any of the dynamic plays that Newton is capable of making he's a solid #2 option if the Panthers were to ever need to use their backup signal caller.
Once we have the financial details of this deal we'll be sure to provide the information, so stay tuned as the Panthers continue their quest to sign the most one- year contracts in NFL history.
