To round out the 2012 draft class the Carolina Panthers selected safety D.J. Campbell. To be perfectly honest I don't have much on the kid, but he will likely play special teams and add DB depth. He was a player scouted heavily by LSU out of high school, but decided to go to Cal. He can play the nickel, both safety positions and CB, so there's plenty of versatility.
While there were more highly rated safeties on the board, when you get this deep into the draft you're looking at just one or two core skills. You wont find complete players this late. Clearly he's someone the front office liked, and if nothing else he really bolsters the depth at safety along with the players brought in via free agency.
So ends the 2012 Carolina Panthers draft class. Personally, I'm thrilled with the overall outlook of the team and we'll be breaking down every player and position here on CSR in the coming weeks.
