What a contrast this off-season is to last years. The Panthers are making moves on a daily basis, quite the track race compared to the yawner we endured in 2007. The Panthers have signed a free agent guard who played for Arizona last season.

Keydrick Vincent, who is 6-foot-5 and 325 pounds, will be 30 in April. He played in eight games for the Cardinals last season, but has participated in 67, with 49 starts, in his career.

The Panthers needed depth at the position and they got a guy with  experience to compete for playing time, nothing wrong with that right? I was just reading some of the comments over at Charlotte.com in response to this signing and let’s just say it’s not pretty. I’m always surprised when Panther fans get upset because the Panthers didn’t land the big name free agent. When have the Panthers ever made the big signings? Let’s see...there’s Sean Gilbert...bad example. Kevin Green was pretty big and played well for the Panthers.  Steven Davis was a good one but at the time it wasn’t seen as a big splash.  Keyshawn...never mind.

Panthers Entertain DT Ian Scott

Eagles DT Ian Scott paid the Panthers a visit today. He spent 2007 on IR for the Eagles.

Scott (6-3, 302 pounds) spent last season, his only year with the Eagles, on injured reserve. He appeared in 49 games for the Bears from 2003-06, totaling 96 tackles and two sacks.
Scott, a native of Greenville, S.C., likely would be a backup tackle for the Panthers behind starters Damione Lewis and Maake Kemoeatu. He's considered a player who is best used in a rotational system rather than starting.

I’m not getting a warm fuzzy here at all. Seems like I remember this guy a little but not much. I can’t imagine he’s any better than Kindall Morehead or Jordan Carstens. I’m still praying we draft a DT in the 2nd or 3rd round.

Titans Sign TE Crumpler

It would have been interesting to see Crumpler in Carolina blue but at least we get him out of the division.  The Titans signed him to a 2-year deal giving him the chance to play with another running QB, Vince Young:

"I really am excited about the opportunity to work with Vince Young. I've admired him as a peer from across the league, and I was itching to get a chance to play with him," Crumpler said.

Talk about sucking up, Young struggled last season at the helm of the worst passing attack in the league. I know, I had him in fantasy and he sucked (fantasy-wise) and that includes the David Carr offense the Panthers sported. Okay, maybe I’m exaggerating a little. Still, he's 'itching' to get his passes from Vince Young? Good luck Alge, you’re going to need it.
