CSR Super Bowl Prediction Thread

If you haven’t already recorded your Super Bowl prediction somewhere in the ether here’s your chance. Post your prediction in the comments and whoever is closest I will post your victory in the sidebar and pay homage to your superior prognostication.

If I was betting a $100 bucks on this game I would take the Giants and the spread but expect the Patriots to win in a close game. As a fan though I really want the Giant upset. Ever since that 2003 Panther loss in the SB to the Patriots I haven’t liked them.

More than that I have a hunch the Giants can really beat the Patriots. They played them tough in the season finally and the Patriots played a good game too. It wasn’t that the Patriots played bad like they did against the Ravens. The Giants defense is playing well and getting after the QB. I think Tom Brady is very capable of turning the ball over a couple times (but not likely dammit) like he did against the Colts. If the Giants can shorten the game by running the ball effectively with Brandon Jacobs and if Plaxico Burress gets hot like the last time they met then a close victory has decent odds.

I can also see Eli having a meltdown and throwing a few picks; most likely by Asante Samuel who usually returns it for a TD. But I can’t make myself make that call. I like to pull for the underdog when my dog isn’t in the fight.
