Texans vs. Panthers Game Predictions
The Houstan Texans blogger for SB nation asked me to do a five question back and forth about the teams and the game on Sunday. I just submitted my answers from his questions so once I get his responses I will post them.
My prediction for the game is Panthers 34 Texans 16. I hesitated on the Texans score but I think they may get a defensive or special teams score. Maybe a long bomb to Johnson but otherwise we will shut them down. Their defense may be improved but it won't be good enough. I think we will have a defensive score as well.
What are your game predictions?

Possibility of a blowout if Peppers and Jenkins can pressure Schaub all day, forcing an interception and/or fumble, or two. Defensive backs could have a big day with a little pressure up front. He is not nearly as mobile as Carr.
Andre Johnson is big, fast, and strong (and apparently a very nice person), but has the bad habit of dropping an easy pass or two a game, often in critical situations. But fumbles only once a season, so don't let him get away while trying to strip the ball. In the four seasons I have watched him, he has made only one catch that I would call spectacular. He rarely leaves his feet. I have never seen him dive for a ball or make a one-handed catch.
Morqan and company should be able to stuff the run. Key on Green, who was very ineffective in preseason. There's not much after him. Dayne is a short yardage man.
On Panthers offense, with the new multi-set formations, Houston should stay confused. Dunta Robinson plays beyond his size, hits like a ton of bricks, but can be beaten. Use Smith to keep Dunta occupied, and let the other receivers run wild. The other DBs can be had. DeMeco Ryans is the best player on the Texans. The offense needs to keep him off-balance. Mario is inconsisent, and this Sunday will likely be his off-day. Okoye is a 20-year-old rookie lineman. The Panthers' veteran line should be licking their chops to get to him, and open gaping holes for Foster and Williams..
If the Panthers cannot put constant pressure on Schaub, or if their O-line cannot give Jake all the time he wants, then they should all resign en masse on Monday morning.
