According to Ian Rapoport over at the NFL Network, the Panthers used a June 1st designation on James Anderson when he was released. That means we picked up an additional $2.9m towards the cap. The cap now stands at about $10m.
Pat Y answered a question about why he seems down on Gettis. Pat replied with: I have my reasons and have heard some things. But, for Gettis' sake, I hope he proves that wrong. I am not sure what that means but thought I would share.
CHARLES EDWARDS (FEATURED COLUMNIST) at Bleacher report cannot seem to make up his mind. ON MAY 13, 2013 he wrote "Undrafted Rookies Making Noise in Secondary" http://bleacherreport.com/articles/1637330-the-five-biggest-takeaways-from-the-carolina-panthers-rookie-mini-camp/page/3 He commented "There is a lot to like about Lester..." and "He knows how to win ..." He followed that including nice comments about Melvin White: "Lester and White will be challenging veterans, and each of them has a strong chance at locking down a starting spot." So ... whyinthehell did he change his mind EIGHTEEN DAYS LATER and include both players in the "unranked" players who have no part of the Panthers FUTURE?! http://bleacherreport.com/articles/1653038-offseason-power-rankings-for-every-player-on-carolina-panthers-roster/page/2 MAY 31, 2013 Scroll down and you'll see "Melvin White, CB" & "Robert Lester, CB" nestled between "Doug Hogue, OLB" & "James Dockery, CB". Make Up Your Mind!
Video was stupid in my opinion. Really seemed to downplay his abilities. The media hatred of Cam to me is simply ridiculous, but it seems winning will be the only cure.
Good article. I had this linked to NFL.com, but changed it because this was the original article and much better.
LaDainian Tomlinson and Willie McGinest talk about Cam. Decent video, they both say they expect him to improve and that he didn't regress in his second year.
