Two third string rookie QBs, a plethora of injured RBs and more Browns on IR than you can shake a stick at. Let’s see what you can do get an edge in fantasy this week.
Panthers
Cam Newton: Obviously Cam remains the most potent and reliable fantasy option we’ve seen in years. So far he’s running less and the powerful offense is making it less necessary to line Cam up over the ball on the 1 or 2 yard line but Newton always finds a way to put up insane numbers.
Kelvin Benjamin: I’m going to have upgrade my assessment of Kelvin to a must start now. Earlier I hadn’t seen enough to be convinced with more receivers than active roster space, Kelvin was going to be able to put up consistent fantasy numbers. Now outpacing both Antonio Brown and Beckham through first two weeks, Benjamin has established value that should stick.
Cameron Artis-Payne: CAP looks to be taking Stewart’s place in the lineup for this week if not the next two. Fozzy put in a very respectable performance in light of CAP not being active for Sunday’s game against the 49ers. The words we’re hearing from Rivera suggest that Fozzy will retain his back up role going forward with CAP leading the charge against the Vikings. With little quality tape on Artis-Payne he could be the beneficiary of an unprepared (though potent) defense. Tread with caution but with if you’re one of the many who’ve lost starters this year, CAP is a viable option.
Around the League
Stefon Diggs: Stefon Diggs is well on his way to becoming a household name. If he’s not off the waiver wire by now he will be by next week. Get him now, start him now, thank me later.
Texans Defense: A top 5 fantasy defense vs a rookie QB. Regardless of how good a coach Bill Belichick is, it’s going to difficult to stand up the pass rush of JJ Watt and a rising Jadeveon Clowney. This match up has all the markings of a defensive struggle with plenty of FF points on both sides.
Travis Benjamin: He looked good in Cleveland (which is near impossible these days) and now has become the main target of a vastly diminished offense in San Diego. Benjamin’s fantasy numbers last week speak for themselves matching closely to the Benjamin we all know and love. These numbers should look pretty consistent for the remainder of the season barring any other major travesties.
